Below you will find information to help you make the most of your visit. The Ark Encounter’s Guest Services Team is ready to assist you with any needs during your visit. The Guest Services Information Center is available as you enter the park.
ADA Compliance

The Ark Encounter attraction is fully ADA compliant.

Each of the Ark Encounter’s 11 shuttle buses fully complies with ADA requirements. The doors are wide enough to allow plenty of space for strollers and wheelchairs.

Ramps are located at every entrance and exit door to Ark Encounter. The first entrance features an automatic door.

Virtually every exhibit is handicapped accessible. A series of gradual ramps take visitors through Ark Encounter’s main exhibits.

Restrooms throughout the facility and grounds are handicapped accessible. Wheelchair accessible water fountains are also available near the main interior restrooms.

Animals

All service animals (defined below) are freely admitted to Ark Encounter. Pets are not permitted at Ark Encounter. Please do not leave pets or service animals in an unattended vehicle for any amount of time. You may wish to find a local pet resort to house your pet for the day.

ATM

ATMs are available. Ticketing, food venues, and the gift shop accept all major credit cards.

Climate Controlled

The Ark Encounter is equipped with both air conditioning and heating units to keep the temperature comfortable for our guests.

First Aid

Contact any staff member in an emergency or non-emergency situation. Basic first aid services are available from the Public Safety Department.

Food Services

Ark Encounter’s restaurant and snack stands feature a variety of delicious food offerings, including options for special needs.   The Ark Encounter offers both vegetarian and gluten-free options at Emzara’s Buffet, and they have an allergy book available with a list of ingredients, which are provided from their vendors. Please speak to a manager during your visit if you have any questions regarding dietary needs and they will be glad to assist you!

K-9 Officers

Ark Encounter does have K-9 officers. Please note that these are working dogs and we ask that you not approach them to pet them or talk to them. Their focus cannot be diverted from their job.

Lost and Found

If you believe you may have left something at the Ark Encounter, please contact (859) 727-2222 ext. 222. We’ll do our best to track it down for you. If we find it, we’ll contact you for info regarding pickup or shipping.

Parents with Young Children

Parents, please keep your eye on young children. Please pay attention to signage on exhibits. We do have special hands-on exhibits that children can touch all they want. If your child is missing, please notify the nearest Ark Encounter staff member. Our Public Safety Officers are trained in Code Adam.

Parking

Parking is $10 for standard vehicles or $15 for oversized vehicles and paid upon entry. Lifetime Boarding passes include free parking. Many handicapped spaces are available in the main parking lot. If you need assistance finding an available handicapped space, alert the individual directing traffic.

Motor Coach Parking

Parking is available for RVs and motor coaches during your visit. Overnight parking is not offered.

Photography

Guests are welcome to photograph and record all Ark Encounter exhibits, except for the Museum of the Bible exhibit and theater and video presentations. DVD versions of most of the videos are available for purchase in the gift shop or the Ark Encounter’s online store.

Reentry

You are able to leave the Ark Encounter and reenter on the same day. Take the shuttle bus back to the parking lot and your specially colored wristband will allow you to regain entry.

Restrooms

Restrooms throughout the facility and grounds are handicapped accessible. Wheelchair accessible water fountains are also available near the main interior restrooms.

Service Animals

At the Ark Encounter, a “service animal” is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Animals that are only used for “comfort,” “therapy,” or “emotional support” do not meet the definition of a service animal. No animals except for service animals assisting a person with a disability, or service animals with a qualified trainer, are allowed at the Ark Encounter. (Trainers are required to maintain proper identification when they are training a service animal on the premises, and public safety officers or other staff members at the Ark Encounter may request to see such identification.)

Individuals entering the premises who are accompanied by an animal should contact public safety or another staff member upon their arrival.

The tasks performed by the service animal must be directly related to the person’s disability. Service animals are the responsibility of the guest and must remain with and under the control of the guest at all times. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times, unless such leash or harness interferes with the service the animal is providing, or unless the handler is unable to use a leash or harness due to his or her disability. The animal must also be housebroken.

Except in the event of an emergency or when otherwise necessary in the interest of public safety, employees of the Ark Encounter are not permitted to take control of service animals at any time. Guests are responsible for the cleanup and for controlling their service animal’s behavior. If at any time your service animal’s behavior becomes a threat to the safety or well-being of other Ark Encounter guests, you will be asked to remove the animal from the premises, or if necessary, public safety officers may intervene to remove the animal.

Shuttle Buses

Each of our 11 shuttle buses fully complies with ADA requirements. The doors are wide enough to allow plenty of space for strollers and wheelchairs.

Strollers and Wheelchairs

The Ark Encounter is wheelchair and stroller friendly. You may bring your own, or Guest Services offers both strollers and wheelchairs for the convenience of all visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.

Single strollers are available, double strollers are available, manual wheelchairs, and a limited number of Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs). Rental fees include sales tax and are non-refundable.

Tram Road

The tram road is for the shuttle buses only. No personal vehicles are permitted on the road, so you will not be able to drop off your family in front of the Ark Encounter.
